To do so, I use, learn and create tools. Additionally, I believe that team-based, focused decisions, rapid iterations and the right returns are key to develop great products.

About Me

Hi, my name is Linus Kuhn, I'm 29 years old and I was born and raised in Stuttgart, Germany. Even as a child, I was fascinated by mechanical things that work and that could be taken apart. Since studying mechanical engineering, I've learned how to put them together professionally, and I keep striving to develop exciting products more efficiently and better.

AI in the Way I Work

AI is fundamentally changing how we work. It boosts development output and makes it possible to solve problems of a complexity we haven't seen before. That's why I've thought deeply about my own workflows and knowledge architecture. The result is a development workflow in Obsidian that lets me handle most of my work template-based, agentically, or manually. How do I work with AI?

The combination of a vision, language, and action model that translates into a physical action through a robotic system marks a fundamental shift in how humans and machines interact. Axial Flux Machine — Surrogate-Based Topology Optimization

Humanoid robots require many electric actuators, increasing the demand for permanent magnets that provide high torque density. YASA axial-flux machines can use this material efficiently, but their three-dimensional flux paths make electromagnetic simulations computationally expensive. In my master's thesis, I developed a surrogate-model-based optimization process to reduce the number of required 3D finite-element simulations. A data-driven constraint cascade progressively narrows the design space to the relevant region without relying on predefined heuristics. Read More

The steering system was developed as a subsystem of a chassis that lets the Iron Brothers compete in an Ironman race — used to push a person over the running distance and tow them over the cycling distance.
